Luxembourg + Milan: a long weekend in Valencia

Luxembourg's Findel is a small airport, with plenty of cross-border commuters and expats coming and going. Milan Malpensa is one of Italy's big hubs. Valencia, with the sea, great food and a mild climate almost all year round, is the ideal shared destination.

How to set up Flymatch

1. Who's flying: first traveller with LUX (Luxembourg), second with MXP (Milan Malpensa).

3. Open Valencia (VLC): from Luxembourg flights typically go out on Friday and come back on Monday, which is a perfect combination. From Malpensa there are flights every day.
4. Options: with the Anubi filter only the flights that fit around a working day remain.

Three days in Valencia

• City of Arts and Sciences: Calatrava's architecture. Inside is the Oceanogràfic, if you have half a day.
• Turia Gardens: 9 km of park in the old riverbed, best done on a rented bike.
• Old town: the Mercado Central, the Lonja de la Seda, the Cathedral and the Miguelete and the Barrio del Carmen for the evening.
• Ruzafa: the neighbourhood for brunch, bars and vermouth.
• Malvarrosa beach: lunch of paella valenciana (the real one: chicken and rabbit, not seafood) in one of the restaurants on the seafront.
• Albufera: sunset by boat on the lagoon, 20 minutes from the centre.

Tip: in mid-March it's the Fallas, a spectacular but extremely noisy festival. Decide whether to seek it out or avoid it.
