Eindhoven + Rome: a long weekend in Kraków
The screenshots show Flymatch in Italian: buttons and menus are in the same places in every language.
Eindhoven is a regional airport in the Netherlands, popular with expats and students from Brabant. Rome Fiumicino is an intercontinental hub. Kraków is connected to both every day and is one of the cheapest and most rewarding destinations in Europe.
How to set up Flymatch
- Who's flying: first traveller with EIN (Eindhoven), second with FCO (Rome Fiumicino).
- When: Flexible dates → month → turn on Long weekend. With daily flights from both cities you can choose freely between Thursday and Friday.
- Options: use the time sliders so everyone lands within a couple of hours of each other, or turn on Arrive within 2 hours.
- Open Kraków (KRK) and move on to exact dates.

Note: airlines publish their schedules a few months ahead. If you search too far into the future, some destinations may disappear from the results. Try again later.
Three days in Kraków
- Rynek Główny: the largest medieval square in Europe, with the Cloth Hall and St Mary's Basilica (on the hour, the trumpeter plays from the tower).
- Wawel: castle and cathedral on the hill, then a walk along the Vistula.
- Kazimierz: the former Jewish quarter, now the place for bars and restaurants. In the evening, zapiekanka on Plac Nowy.
- Podgórze: Schindler's Factory (now a museum) and Ghetto Heroes Square.
- Wieliczka Salt Mine: half a day, 30 minutes from the centre.
- Auschwitz-Birkenau: it takes a full day and must be booked well in advance. Decide whether to include it.
Tip: in December the Christmas market on the Rynek is worth the trip, but dress warmly.
