Long-distance relationship: meet halfway, somewhere on her wishlist
The screenshots show Flymatch in Italian: buttons and menus are in the same places in every language.
Anyone in a long-distance relationship knows the routine: one weekend at yours, one at hers, and lots of identical flights. Every now and then, though, it's worth meeting somewhere else, in a city that's new to both of you. Even better if it's a place she has been dreaming of for a while.
Flymatch brings together two pieces of information that usually live in different places: where she wants to go and where you can both get to with a direct flight.
The scenario: you live in Turin, Giulia in Barcelona. You want a long weekend in spring.
1. Look at her profile: visited and wishlist
If Giulia is among your friends on Flymatch, open her profile with View profile. You'll find her home airport and the section @giulia's Places: 14 countries visited, 6 on her wishlist, 7% of the world explored.

The map colours the countries she has already been to in purple and the ones she wants to visit in yellow.

Below the map is the list of Wishlist countries: Brazil, Greece, Turks and Caicos Islands, Madagascar, Morocco and the Dominican Republic. For a long weekend from Turin and Barcelona, the realistic candidates are Greece and Morocco.

You mark visited and wishlist countries from the Places tab of your profile, by clicking the countries on the map. The more up to date your map is, the easier it is for whoever travels with you to surprise you.
2. Plan a trip together
From Giulia's profile click Plan a trip together. Flymatch opens the search with you and her, each with your own airports: Turin and Barcelona. The destinations both of you can reach with a direct flight number 58.

3. Filter April with long weekend
In When → Flexible dates choose April 2027 and turn on Long weekend (outbound Thu/Fri, return Sun/Mon). 32 destinations remain. Scrolling through the list, three destinations in her wishlist countries appear: Tangier and Casablanca in Morocco, and Athens.

The month matters more than you'd think. In December, with the same filters, Greece wasn't there: no direct flights from both cities. In spring seasonal routes reopen and prices drop. When you hover over a destination, the map highlights both routes.

4. Choose the destination and the weekend
Open Athens. Flymatch lists the April weekends that match the filter.

Choose Thu 15 – Sun 18 Apr: three nights, a single day off. The dates with a solid border are the ones where both of you have a direct flight both ways.
5. Check prices and times
Flymatch fetches live fares for both of you. The cheapest option had Giulia landing at 2:40 at night. With All flights you pick the 6:10 Vueling, which costs €27 more but gives her a whole day in Athens.

- You, Turin → Athens 11:25–15:05, return Sunday 16:10–17:50: €120
- Giulia, Barcelona → Athens 06:10–10:10, return Sunday 10:50–13:10: €140
- Total: €260 for three nights, with the second arrival within 4 h 55 min of the first
She lands in the morning, you in the early afternoon: just enough time for her to drop off her bags and meet you at arrivals. Then each of you books your own flight with Book.
In December the closest option to her wishlist was Casablanca: €540 for two nights. Moving a few months later more than halved the cost and added a night.
In short
| Step | Result |

A successful surprise starts from a wish list. Flymatch tells you which wishes can come true with a direct flight, and on which weekend.
